About Charter Oak
Being both a throwback and an innovator wasn’t part of some big strategic plan. It’s something that’s always been part of us. The whole story began in 1886, when we occupied a single-room office in downtown Springfield and were known as “The Hartford-Springfield Agency.” Today, we span offices across Connecticut, Massachusetts and New York, with nearly 400 advisors serving the individuals, families, businesses and large institutions we’re privileged to call clients.
We believe our growth was made possible by realizing that connecting to our past—to the days when business was done on a handshake and people looked out for one another—is just as important as breaking the mold. It lets us serve our communities resourcefully and authentically, rooted in trust with an eye on what’s next.
