Timothy Ludwig

General Agent

The Role
As a General Agent at Charter Oak, Tim is responsible for leading, mentoring, and motivating the firm’s growing team of financial services professionals and staff.

The Story
Tim was drawn to financial services in large part through his aptitude for and love of entrepreneurship. Growing up in Connecticut, he built and sold his first business before attending college. He also worked summers at the family farm, where he learned the value of hard work. It was there where he first encountered the challenges that multi-generational businesses face. Consequently, when he launched his private practice, Tim committed to a focus on succession planning and family-owned businesses, and obtained the American College’s Certified Family Business Specialist (CSFB) designation in 2006.

A graduate of Quinnipiac University, Tim’s career began at Mutual of New York (MONY), and has continued to grow within the MassMutual network. His success in building thriving teams has led to numerous leadership roles at the field level, including as a manager of a company-leading sales unit with Charter Oak and as GA of another MassMutual firm. Tim’s return to Charter Oak marks a continuation of his passion and talent for leadership, mentorship and developing cultures of success.

Tim and his wife have three young children. As a family they enjoy traveling, boating, youth sports and, most importantly, time together.
