Novak has been a GAMA member since 1985, with service to the boards of both GAMA International (2015-2017) and the GAMA Foundation (2004-2006). A contributor to the organization’s research, publications and conferences, Novak has been recognized regularly with numerous GAMA awards, including the James Krueger First In Class Award (2010-2011, 2017), International Management Award (2004-06, 2008-14), Master Agency Award (2002, 2007-17) and National Management Award (NMA), Platinum level (2001-03). Kreuger First in Class Award for his outstanding leadership in both his career and in the community. This is the third time Novak has been recognized with this award; he was also a recipient in 2010 and 2011.

Novak, a 32-year veteran of the insurance business, has been a MassMutual field leader since joining the company in 1995. Under the leadership of Novak and his partner, General Agent Brendan Naughton, Charter Oak has grown regionally to include presence in Massachusetts, Connecticut and both metropolitan and upstate New York. The firm has been recognized by MassMutual with 12 gold bowls, three silver bowls and a bronze bowl in recognition of its overall excellence.

In addition to the Kreuger Award, GAMA has recognized Novak with its International Management Award (2004-06, 2008-14), Master Agency Award (2002, 2007-17) and National Management Award (NMA), Platinum level (2001-03).
